Window Curtaining

Windows are made for the purpose of lighting and ventilating the interior part of the house. Sizes and shapes of windows vary. Some are wide and low; others narrow and tall; or wide and tall; or narrow and low. Large windows allow much light and air to enter the room. Smaller ones limit the amount of light and air in the room. In the choice of curtains and drapes for window treatment several factors are to be considered like the size and shape of the windows, the amount of light, ventilation, the size of the room, the furnishings, the color scheme, and the use of the room.

When you want the window to look taller you may use only drapes and glass curtains which hang down to about one inch from the floor. If you want to shorten the impression of height of the window use valence. Floor length drapes and glass curtains give elegance and formality to the room.
