Don't Buy What You Don't Need

Now that my work is picking up and opportunities are starting to lengthen my working hours I’m planning to save a fixed percentage of my income for our savings. In this kind of job we have where we can earn good if we’ve worked that hard it’s good to have some savings so when low peak season comes we’ll not be caught off guard. Anyway the past two low peak months have passed and I was glad that I didn’t have to apply for cash advance payday loan during those two months.

My earnings from last year saw us through those months and now I can say that I’ve learned my lesson and will continue with saving for my kids’ education and some house project plans. It’s better to be prepared than be at a lost where to find finances for my family. Some nuggets of wisdom from my Mom made me realized that she’s right in saying ‘Don’t buy what you don’t need and do not need what you can’t buy.’ In these times of uncertainty when countries are in chaos and disasters attack various countries we should be able to practice being frugal and save for the rainy days.
